Site Audit
Service Overview
To ensure site readiness to implement new storage devices, this required
service provides an on-site pre-installation planning session with the
customer. The service includes a physical review of the location in which
the products are to be installed to ensure all environmental and technical
pre-requisites documented in Ciara's Site Checklist have been met. Also
included is a review of the customer's technical configuration information
(i.e. IP addresses, user login ID's, and other information) necessary
to install the new storage device. Any outstanding issues are documented
in the Pre-Installation Site Worksheet and communicated to the appropriate
customer and Ciara contacts for resolution prior to the product installation.
Each Pre-Installation Site Audit service can be used to prepare for the
installation of storage devices.
Summary of Customer Responsibilities/Notes
- It is the customer's responsibility to be present during the audit
and have information regarding desired configuration, electric power
type and availability, and environmental information.
- This service does not include installation of products.
- This service will be provided during the hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm
(local customer time),
Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
- This document provides only an overview of the service steps and customer
responsibilities.
Key Service Steps
- Meet with the designated customer contact to verify that:
- The ordered Ciara installation services match the customer's expectations
(i.e., services will install what the customer expects).
- The ordered configuration matches the customer requirements.
- The customer has documented any specific information
required to perform the installation
(e.g., Domain name(s), IP Address(es), Host Computer types).
- The customer has reviewed the Site Checklist and understands of
environmental
requirements for installation of the specific product(s).
- Physically inspect the area where the equipment is to be installed
and verify that:
- The appropriate power outlets are available (as documented in
Ciara's Site Checklist).
- Physical space and airflow are adequate for the products to be
installed.
- The equipment to be installed is available.
- Document any issues that require resolution, and note any problems
that
may cause a delay or re-schedule of the installation service(s):
- Work with the customer to resolve, or gain commitment to resolve,
any physical
site issues that will inhibit installation or configuration.
- If rescheduling is required, work with the customer to satisfy
any scheduling needs.
- Notify the Ciara Installation Management Team of any schedule
changes or
additions associated with the installation service(s).
