Service Overview
VXTECH “Installation Service” includes an external quality
inspection, new system installation, external peripheral connection and
mapping to an existing network printer. This service is offered as an
option on VXTECH workstations, servers, storage and cluster.
On-site Activities/Service Steps
Installation, Test, Network Connection and Remove of Packing Materials
- Verify receipt and condition of all boxes
and components.
- Verify the availability of customer-provided
physical site and power.
- Unpack VXTECH systems and components.
- Verify product serial number match shipping
list. If a non-match,
contact the VXTECH Technical Support group.
- Setup and connect all peripherals (keyboard,
monitor (s), mouse, etc.)
including network cable (if applicable) to Desktop/Workstation.
- Setup and connect all peripherals to VXTECH
system.
- System should be powered on and brought up
to the installed operating system.
- Enter customer supplied TCP/IP address (if
applicable).
- Verify that the VXTECH system comes up to
the network login screen (if applicable).
- Enter path to existing network printer.
- Remove all installation packaging to a customer-designated
area within the
immediate installation location or arrange with the customer for customer
removal.
- Obtain customer sign-off for service delivery
completion.
- Provide a complete installation record to
you.
- Remove and Dispose
of all packing materials.
Service Notes
- This installation does not include any software
application installation, configuration, or data transfer, other than
that which is specifically noted. This service does not include network
cabling (excluding cable from system to network jack) or any other environmental
or power related activities.
- Connection of peripherals refers to plugging
components into the new VXTECH system,
and loading customer supplied drivers. It does not involve configuring
the peripherals.
- Within 24 hours of your order shipping, VXTECH
will attempt to contact the customer to confirm the contact information
and review the specifics of the installation service. The installer
will then be notified, and will initiate contact with you within 24
hours to schedule the installation.
- The Installer will arrive at the customer
site on the agreed upon date or three to five days from the day that
they are notified of the installation.
Summary of Customer Responsibilities
- All equipment to be installed must be located
at the area (Lab/Building/etc…) in which the installation will
take place.
- If the VXTECH system to be installed
will be connected to the customer's network, the customer must supply
the necessary network configuration (i.e., TCP/IP address, etc.) when
the Installer arrives on-site to perform the installation.
Customer Escalation Procedures
If at any time during the installation process you have questions or concerns,
please contact your VXTECH Sales Representative or VXTECH Tech Support.
You should have your original sales order number available and/or your system
Service Tag Serial #.
Once your systems are built to your specifications, VXTECH can arrange a
number of custom delivery services, using our select carriers, to best meet
your work environment and staffing constraints.
Scheduled Delivery Services
With Scheduled Delivery Services, you can benefit from a predictable and/or
precise delivery cycle to specific locations. Projects may include recurring
deliveries that typically involve a repetitive schedule or clearly defined
deliveries with start and end dates. Scheduled deliveries include requests
such as a specified date and time or after-hours deliveries.
Pre-Delivery Services
Pre-Delivery Services like standard and custom palletization, order consolidation
and advanced delivery notice can better prepare your shipment for delivery,
based on your receiving environment.
Destination Services
De-palletization, unpacking boxes and package removal are just some of the
Destination Services performed at the business site to accommodate the physical
receiving capabilities or product handling needs. |
